When: Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 10:45 AM
Where: Mount Anthony High School, 301 Park Street, Main Lobby
What: Bennington area teens participating in the Alliance for Community Transformations’ (ACT) Youth Ambassador Program present Vermont Veterans’ Home with several hundred holiday cards created by classmates for residents.
Why: Youth Ambassadors initiated this service project as a means of supporting our community and intergenerational exchange. Youth Ambassadors act as leaders and as a direct link to their peers on various health related issues. These issues may include topics such as tobacco use, mental health, oral health or food allergies and safety. Youth Ambassadors focus heavily on health issues facing teens, but also those affecting our local community, state and nation. As members of ACT, they give advice and support for youth-targeted projects and represent youth voice in its work. Local teens from Mount Anthony Union High School, Arlington Memorial High School and Grace Christian School and selected through an application process and will be involved with ACT from October 2015 until June 2016.
